Gianni Motta, who was born in Cassano d'Adda, Italy, in 1943, is a former professional bicycle racer. Beginning his career in 1964, his greatest accomplishments were winning the Giro d'Italia in 1966 and Tour de Suisse in 1967. However Motta tested positive for amphetamines at the Giro d'Italia in 1968 and was susequently disqualified.
He ended his bike racing career in 1976 and afterwards founded a company for the manufacturing of classic bicycles
